Adams River Sockeye Salmon Run

What a hoot of a day! We headed up to Adam's River, by Shuswap to see the Salmon Run. HERE is the info on it :)

Here a man is holding a dead fish, talking about the life cycle, how this one probably died, and it's eggs.
Here are the eggs, and as we walked away, our conversation went like this:
H When I was a salmon, I pooped out my eggs and then I died.
M Oh, well what happened to your eggs?
H Don't worry mom, my eggs break into babies who will swim to Auntie Lea's house in Vancouver. Then they will come back and visit me
A school of Salmon
All of those red spots are salmon, this is the largest run in 97 years, pretty amazing.
Mommy and me
Lea, me, Hannah, Mom, and my Daddy

A happy male fish, strutting his stuff.
A little too innocent here...
Really interested in the fish. She cried when we left, she didn't want to leave, but to go visit her Salmon again.

And playing catch up from yesterday! Scroll down 3 pictures, to where you see them sitting quietly, and then work your way up. The computer is giving me the screen of death if I try to switch the order around...

#3, by looking at Hannah's hands, you can see that the fish was THIS BIG!!!

#2, Oh!!! We got a bite!!!
#1 Sitting nicely, waiting for the fish to bite...
Nail time!
